WHERE EVERYONE KNOWS YOUR NAME

Our favorite bartender just got married. Saturday night Morty and I went to Jeramia's to help Ron celebrate his wedded bliss. The band was awesome and so was Ron's solo. CONGRATULATIONS!

SPA/BIRTHDAY PARTY

I wanted to thank all the girls for a great day at the spa. What a relaxing day. After our Mani's, pedi's, facials, and massages were looked glamorous. Then we lunched and shopped, talk about a girly day! Fabi, I have already started working out of my "BIG ASS BOOK OF CRAFTS".

MY GIRLS, LOUD & ROWDY

Thanks Victoria for getting this intimate party together. The food, conversation, company, and drinks were awesome. Having the girls around to get loud and rowdy with makes life good!

LYDIA, THIS BLOG IS FOR YOU!

Here are all the pics from Alec's 5th birthday party. It was at a place called Pump it Up. All his cousins were able to attend. ENJOY!

MOM'S COOKING

What a better way to celebrate my birthday than with mom's home cooking. Don't as why but I had a craving for fido, beans, and homemade flour tortillas. I absolutley love it when my entire family gets together at mom's. What a madhouse, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

FIRST SET OF WHEELS

So Diney will be driving soon and as we wait for that day........some of her friends have already gotten their driver's license. On the way home from a LULAC activity, Diney said she was going to the movies with Cara. I right away yelled that I did not fell like driving them to and from the movies. Diney quickly responded...................YOU DON'T HAVE TO, CARA HAS HER DRIVER'S LICENSE!!!!!!! FEAR AND TEARS QUICKLY TOOK OVER! Are we letting Diney ride in cars with newly licensed driver's....Morty and I have not even talked this over....what do I say....what do I do.....what if they wreck...what if they are really not going to the movies....what if they come home at 2am......why have we not given Diney a curfew.....WAY TOO MANY QUESTIONS AND THOUGHTS TOOK OVER! Needles to say Diney and Cara ventured over to Northpark Mall to see Igor. Such good girls. Friends since kindergarten.....it has been nice to see them grow up into beautiful young women, as Cara jumped the curb reversing from our drive way.

I am glad Hayden is happy driving Joselyn's pick scooter! Hayden is man enought to ride PINK!

MY BABIES....

A few weeks ago was reading under the stars at Walnut Hill Elm. I was so amazed at Hayden's enthusiasm on reading. He could not contain himself and wanted to buy about 20 books. We managed to pick out 4 good chapter books. I also got to met his teacher, Ms. Simms. She is so sweat and amazing. Hayden jumped at the opportunity to take a picture with Ms. Simms. She says he is an "angel".

As we were taking their picture, Hayden's classmate (Amanda) insisted that Hayden take a picture with his classmates. So CUTE! Hayden/Amanda/Abby

POLITICS & RELIGION

Politics and Religion are two things you do NOT talk about.

These subjects only turn to arguments whether it be with family or friends.

I am proud to live in The United States of America and to have the freedom of speech and religion. Do not show me prejudice for you do not know where I stand.

Family: brothers and sister

For my siblings: I LOVE YOU.

No matter how you view me I will always be there for you. As the oldest I have seen each of you go thru so much. At times I wish I had an older sibling to turn to. Even if you don't feel you can come to me...ALWAYS know that I will be here.

Matilda: We never seem to have the same views in life but I have never not helped you in times of need. Maybe I didn't know how to help you but I was there for you. Even Morty!

Victor: You have grown from a scrawny little kid into a an amazing adult! I am so proud of you. I am happy to see that you have found yourself to be an awesome dad to Jocelyn. Also thanks letting me cry on your shoulder the other day.

David: After I left home I felt that Morty and I were another set of parents to you. You would show up on our front porch looking for someone to talk to and somewhere to go. Morty treated you like a son and helped you grow up to be man. You have a wonderful family and I hope you know that we are both here for you and your family.

All four of us should be greatful that we have a big family. I could not imagine being alone in the world. If we cannot depend on each other, who can we depend on? I wish each of you and your families the best. We may all have different opinions, values, and lifestyles but we are still FAMILY.

SUNDAY FUN

So it seams that football season has started and I just can't seem take a liking to the sport. So Sunday afternoon Hayden and I headed out for some mommy and Hayden fun. Morty, David, and Rodney stayed at our house to watch the Cowboys (Wow they Won). Patrick and Alec tagged along and we found a place to let our creativity run free, mosaic tiling. It was really fun and Hayden was very proud of his penguin. He wants to go back and make something for both his grandparents.

As for today........my doctor just gave me the OK to go back to work. YES! I am actually very glad to return. I cannot stand another day at home! I still can't walk to mall or anything but at least I can be bored at work with other people. Let's see if I can stay awake.

Ok, here's my delima......should I go back to school? Just the idea gives me the willies! I hate school but if GE does not keep us long, this may just be my chance to finish court reporting school. Do I have it in me? Morty says go for it. I love the fact that he always supports me. I have to give him thanks and praise for all he does. As the past 6 weeks he has done all the cooking, cleaning, laundry, and errands as if he were a single dad. Also thanks to those who called constantly to check on me and wanting to know if there was anything they could do. Your friendship means alot to me, YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!

VICTORIA'S BIRTHDAY BASH!

Victoria's 21st (wink, wink) birthday bash at Jeramia's was a blast. I could only hobble to and from the bathroom but Morty seemed to make up for that with his chicken dancing! The night was filled with decades of various tunes from the juke box.

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL

Still at home on short term......I seriously can't watch anymore TV! Things have been busy here at the Hobgood household. I watch Morty do all the chores, what a chore! The kids are getting ready for school. My babies (not so baby) will be entering 10th grade and 2nd grade. I still look at them as babies and they look at me like "whatever old lady". I was lucky to get this picture.

THE HULK

I think Hayden wants a baby brother? Too bad....he will have to settle for Tobi.

JOCELYN'S BELATED BD PARTY

The family was finally able to celebrate Jocelyn's birthday. All the cousins played outside til they smelled like puppy dogs.

Tobi absolutely loves Morty! The three amigos! Xavier, Tobi, Lalani.

08 JULY

Hung out with Victoria at her sister's pool for 4th of July. It was nice to cool off. Morty probably felt a little weird since he was not the bbq'er!

Due to foot surgery I am confined to my house. It's the pits not to be able to walk or leave home. WHAT DID I GET MYSELF INTO!

Thomas turned 11...........!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Had to miss his party.

Thank you Vic and Dulce for inviting Diney to vacation with you in San Antonio. Your a good unlce and a great father.

AND THE BEST THING OF ALL! Grandpa came to the BIG D. No one could belive it. What a change from when we saw him in March. It was nice to see that he was able to make the plane ride. LOVE YOU GRAMPS! It was nice to see all the family together at mom's house.

08 JUNE

Stayed home for Vacation. Went to NRH2O. Otherwise a pretty quite start to summer vacation for the kids.

Diney attended a fitness camp at TWU.

Celebrated Morty's birthday at Outback! Last minute dinner party! Thank goodness they had a seperate room for all us rowdy people and brats! Once again pictures lost.

08 may

Hayden turned 7 this year and somehow the ghost in our house deleted the pictures off my camera. One day I will catch that darn ghost!

Also just want to take the time to say how proud I am of my brother Victor. He is finally engaged to Dulce and we love her. She makes him a better person. Seems like my little brother is growing up. He and Dulce also purchased a brand new home.

Wow Matilida and David are getting older. We celebrated their birthday at Joe Pool Lake. Ton's of fun playing volleyball. Some people are so serious.....MORTY AND DINEY! It was such a serious game that no one took the time to take pics. Afterwards we went bowling at 300!

Oh my where to start! I don't know how people keep up with this. With all the things to do in the day......Let's see If I can recap the past couple of months.

SUNDAY

Hayden had his first football game for the season today and won. Hayden says he is the best quarterback ever.....does he even play quaterback? Morty and I are so proud of him.

Diney andI spent most of the day shopping and running the normal errands.

The Crears came over and enjoyed some of my homemade Mexican chicken and rice. Rodney said no matter what Morty says......THAT I CAN COOK. Yeah, I got one person on my side. I even think Tobie liked it.......or maybe he didn't since he sneezed it out his nose. Gotta love it.

LAZY SATURDAY

Finally some sleep today. It was so nice to just lay around til 1pm. What a lazy day. Morty took Hayden to buy shoes and get Diney some new cleats.

Diney had a great lacrosse game at the University of Dallas. They played Ursuline and they really hustled today.

She is so excited as her UIL 1-Act play cast won district with their 1 act play. They will be going to Waco to compete for area. Keep up the good work, Daddy and I are very proud of you.

EASTER

HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!

Seeing all he kids together this Easter was fantastic. With all the new additions this year we had our hands full. Becky and Joshua were able to join us. Watching the kids go crazy looking for eggs makes you laugh and realize how much joy they bring to our life. All the men become children as they try to hide the eggs extra good for the big kids.

VISITING GRANDPA

As soon as we heard that our grandpa Llanes was not doing so well, my stomache turned. In my lifetime only one close relative has passed, my grandma. These are the only people in my life that I have always looked up to. I am glad that my both my kids were able to get to know grandpa and build a relationship with him. Seeing him sick this time around was the hardest thing ever. My aunt Lydia is doing a superb job at caring for him. Her strength and dedication are qualities I can only wish to aquire. I hope Lydia knows that the Hobgoods love her and think of her as a 2nd mom.

Grandpa, we all love you!

FEBRUARY '08

February 8th
My baby turned 15 today. I am so proud of her. She is a great daughter and wonderful sister to Hayden. I just wish she thought I was cool.....I am ?.....right?

Valentines day this year was a little disastrous. Morty was sick with the flu for 1 week. Poor baby looked miserable. No Valentines dinner:(

JANUARY '08

Morty and I celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary. Through ups and downs we have made it! I could not imagine my life without Morty. A man who cooks, cleans, does laundry, takes care of his kids (not babysit them), and provides for his family. Who knew at 16 that I would get the whole package. I LOVE YOU, BABE, WITH ALL MY HEART.

HAPPY NEW YEAR'S

None of should quit our day jobs! We rang in the new year with tons of food and so-called singing.

DECEMBER '07

Celebrated Mom’s birthday by her making her own dinner! She never wants to go out and eat. We all gave mom Christmas ornaments for her xmas tree.

What a great christmas. It was nice to see all the family together. Christmas is all about the kids. What I wouldn't give to be a kid again.

Xavier and Lalanie turn one!

November '07

Let's see Thanksgiving. Mom is the best cook and Patrick did a great job on the table settings. It was great to see Becky and to see Joshua for the first time.
